Is it all just a tease, or will we get some early fruit with some springtime sets as well?

I would have preferred nothing

Just going to take that much longer to get to a size that can handle a crop

It's not as cold as you think

Elevation, lake apopka to the north of us and the Clermont ridge to the
west, we are better off than many places to the south of us.

They named us for a reason.  But we do have to act when needed

Easier to say what I don't have

But mango is my fave with 16 total, soon to increase

There are a bunch of large mango trees around the parramore area in Orlando.  It looks some have froze to the ground before because of the multiple trunks, but they receive absolutely no care and are still thriving.

I live in Lake Mary which is north of Winter Garden and there are some good sized trees around......last year I didn't cover any tree and had no damage from temps as low as 30 and enjoyed some NDM fruits

I noticed the same thing in the pine hills/orlo-vista area, big mango trees all over the place! I figured they where all seedlings that grew really fast. It's been a long time since that big freeze that killed all the citrus but it made me rethink the possibility of sustaining mangos in inland central FL. I always wander if any of them are any good but I doubt too many of them hit the ground.

New update, bunches of tiny mangos now pea sized but only on the picking. The three other trees are just hanging out... WAKE UP OTHER TREES!

89 was the last of the major freezes in these parts.

The one a few years back that killed all the snook
in southwest Florida didn't do as much damage in our area.  Knock on wood

My jabo is 16 years old now

Mango grows well and are great tasting.  My Fairchild was my first to fruit and other than pruning is very easy to grow.  It was the one that once tasted I was hooked.

I just planted several mango after removing an oak from the yard.

Juicy peach
Ppk
Pickering
Sweet tart
Duncan

Also picked up a honey kiss from Rob and a Coc from Excalibur recently

Both in ground also.

Thanks Rob, the trees look great
