Hi Luisport, thanks for answering. In my area we get those temperatures every few years. Shouldnt be a problem then growing them outdoors.
I have mine in a protected place, below big cork trees...
Where have you got yours Luis? Did it fruit?
In Italy there was somebody selling it but turns out it wasn't the correct one.

Hi,
Can I know where you bought Gevuina Avellana seeds?
I got these from a friend after spending a year searching them. Before that ive ordered a few packs of seeds from USA ( from ebay) and none of those germinated ,so beware if your gonna spend a lot of monney on them.Make sure they are fresh.
I had found somebody willing to ship some seeds but didn't hear from him since a long time.
How big is the nut? Have you tasted any?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Banana corms recovery
« on: July 22, 2019, 04:47:14 PM »
I tried once using diluted bleach for several minutes to kill pests.
I thought it worked but it did nothing.
Found a month later when repotting some suspicious crack in the corn and after cutting I found many tunnels and several live corm borer.
I'm still scared some became adult and escaped.

Is this supposed to be variegated or I got a lucky seedling?

Hi Han,
Are you selling the 3 seeds of Nangka mini I saw on facebook?
Could you get more?

Thanks

Yellow and red Muntingia calabura. Seeds from achetadomestica. Fruits were packed in wet vermiculite. At arrival on my place, the pulp, seeds and vermiculite were a somehow slimy mass. This mass was spread evenly on top of seeding trays, filled with peat. The seeding trays were well watered, bagged and put on a warm place with indirect sunlight. After a week, the trays were taken out of the bag and put in full sun, for 4 days. The peat was kept wet and watered twice a day. Thereafter, the trays were taken out of the sun and bagged again. Seeds germinated a few days later.

After taken this picture, I have potted 50 seedlings. For me, that’s more than enough. However, with colder temperatures in autumn and winter, a high mortality may be expected.

Mike, thank you for the seeds. I appreciate very much, your help and your advice.

How long to reach that stage?
Mine from last year never passed 1mm, some are still alive but same height.
The batch from this year slightly better, around 2mm(only a few) in 2 months ....
In case I can't get even this batch to grow, would you sell me a yellow muntingia seedling next year?

Awesome, interested then.
How much are they?
Hope they arrive safely, I never managed to get any mangifera seeds without rot.

60
Hi Roy, what temperatures have the region where it grows?
Do you think it stands cold better or worse than mangifera indica?

Hi Marcos, what's the difference between Annona Sp #1  and #2?

From where do the seeds dispatch?

63
I received several other seeds in that month that traveled much longer, including some ingas and they were all fine, so not a heat issue.
Some were wrapped in cotton that was there probably just to keep the moisture inside high, but it was completely soaked and the seeds that were around it surely did rot rapidly and then the rot did spread.

My pentaphylla and Bulbifera has gone in the ground. The bulbifera is from you Caesar, thanks again!
I noticed mine cannot stand a change of environment, is this common?
If they sprout in one environment then they go into shock if moved to different conditions.
Happened to the african bulbifera and the pentaphylla, they just stay there doing nothing after I moved them :(
Not a transplant issue as it doesn't do it when changing pot.

My seeds from Daniel arrived all rotten because they were practically swimming in water.
I tried to email Daniel but no response....

I have an old apricot tree that is severely affected by monilia and gummosis.
It doesn't have any effect on the production however, so I never bothered to do anything to it.
This year I tried Serenade Natria which uses Bacillus subtilis, just out of curiousity, and It still have to show any sign of both.

I would like to try it, but can't find anybody selling cuttings and by seed it can be female and male.
Could you sell some cuttings when you prune it?

Thanks!

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: How to lower soil Ph long term?

Tons of organic matter and compost. In the long run it should make your soil neutral, but will take years anyway.
And you will likely have only a top layer like that, below will always stay basic.

If you decide to ship internationally let me know.

You should be able to find them in most online nursery with a decent catalog.
It is quite common.

I had great success with seeds from this seller:

He/she should be on this forum too, can't remember the username.

I may still have some seeds under the tree that are viable.  I'll will check asap for you.
As far as I know you grow this from seed and its true to type.  I know under my tree are lots of small seedlings and i have planted these out in the past and they are just the same.
How big is the fruit of yours? Can you post a picture?
I have the orange version from Raul but wanted to keep the yellow bumpy too.

Fig roots are indestructible, will even try to grow on concrete. So yeah, no problem.
