Vietnam super early Jackfruit
« on: November 30, 2019, 12:39:36 PM »
Hi,

I am Nandan from Kerala,India. Recently Vietnamese super early Jackfruit has been becoming famous here, main attraction is that the grafted trees bears fruits in 1-1.5 years time, and they don't grow very big hence collecting fruits is easy and high density farming can be done with 430 trees per acre. I am also planning to try them in large scale, but wanted to know the origin of these plants. Basically are these jackfruit trees hybrid variety or naturally has all these characteristics?

Regards,
Nandan

Lots of videos on this. Maybe it is true but I've seen some deceptive claims before so beware some have commercial reasons to exagerrate. You could translate and find out the story, looks like a good mystery which I love seeing solved.

Thanks for the comment..I can understand all those videos, since it is in my local language. None of them talks about the details of this variety, may be it is not known to them.

J33 is undergoing trials is india as we speak (write) and it looks very promising. You can google details easily. It fruits from seed in a very short time. Vietnam does have some good jackfruit and one dubbed sherbert in north queensland sounds promising and quite different from most.As a general rule if it isn't a named variety with pics and independent descriptions it is good to be a bit sceptical.

Thanks for the comments, would look at J33 also. Vietnamese super early has pictures and some descriptions, but not sure if it is from a genuine source

Nandan
