See Sheehan's list

Thanks for all the places Noel!

It does have good guava jelly so maybe I should include it. Patrick and I stopped off there last weekend. We waited about 35 minutes in line to get inside.

What about Harry's place? Didn't see it on the list.
Oscar

I wasn't sure if he wanted his place on the list. There are a lot of members here in South Florida that would be likely to open their yards to members visiting from other places if they contacted prior. Maybe I should add that as a category and if they're interested in being visited I'll put their username here on this list.

I have no objection to listing my home as a visiting spot for the fruit world's luminaries, or those aspiring to be such.  Of course visits by appointment only and fruit thieves will be dealt with in the harshest of manners.  I am not sure I fit into any of the categories though. Maybe we should have a private members listing of folks that just like to show off their stuff.

Thanks Sheehan and everyone else contributing to this very helpful reference. I think it's especially helpful to people such as myself that would be coming from very long way and would be very limited in time, and also clueless as to where anything is or how to get there.
Would it be too difficult for you to add a google map link to each location? Florida is a very big place and so easy to get lost.
A private members listing that like to show off their collections would also be great. Thanks again,
Oscar

The arboretum in Deerfield isn't getting much care these days.  Some of the trees are looking neglected and sad.  I think the person who started it has passed away many years ago.

Good idea about adding the map. I added a map in the bottom of the post with the location of all the places. I will work on making it better later.

How about addresses and phone numbers?  Assuming the list is printable (or even if it is not), then one could have everything in one spot.

BTW, great job on the list everyone.  Yes, especially you Murahilin.

Perhaps we could have a list for our non-Florida places as well.  If I was travelling to California, Hawaii, Brasil or Fiji, it would be wonderful to have a list of places to visit in advance.

Great idea about a printable list. In order to avoid printing the entire post or having to copy and past yourself and possible lose some formatting and stuff, I will include all of this info in a separate printable page that I will link to.

Exactly what I planned to do. I think I will start a Hawaii list next.

Would be great if i have a page i can give people to look up. I just made a list of places to visit on Big Island for a visitor from California. I forget now how many times i've done this for visitors??? Gets kinda olde. Murahilin, you should break the list down by each individual island: Oahu, Kauai, Molokai, Lanai, Maui, and Hawaii (Big Island).

Oscar, I was planning on using you as my source. Lol

If you still have the list you made for a visitor from CA can you please send me a copy? Thanks. I will divide it up by island... also, what is the easiest way to get from island to island?

Yeah, i figured!  ::) I don't mind being the source because i'd rather just do it once, and have the link to give to people in the future. The easiest, and ONLY way, to get from island to island is to fly. There are 2 airlines that fly interisland: Hawaiian and Go!

I will make it a post here but I'll also add it to an individual webpage that you can link to. You can even include the link on your website if you'd like.

That's a good idea. There should be an entire FAQ post on where to mail order tropical fruit.

This is in Palm City, which it north of Palm Beach County in Martin County--but I really liked Pinders Nursery--it's been there forever.

Oscar,
Did you ever get around to posting this?  :D
Just booked a flight with my family to Hawaii for August (Oahu, Maui, Hawaii) and I of course need to see every single great fruit related thing in Hawaii.  ;D
