Tropical Fruit Discussion / help needed to choose Jaboticabas CV
« on: April 27, 2015, 05:56:47 AM »
Hello

I would like to plant few Jaboticabas for personal and (small ) commercial crop, but don't know what cv would suit my needs ;)
I 'd like to have +/- 3 cultivars from seeds,to eat and be sold as fresh fruits.
Soil is a little acid, small hills and two different season, dry from December until April and rainy or humid the other months.

I'll order some sweet jabo from Dreamfrutas, but need help to choose others. :)

Tropical Fruit Discussion / salak taste
« on: July 21, 2014, 10:00:39 PM »
I had Salaks for the first time in Bintulu,Borneo when I came there in Mai .
I liked the taste but they where really dry.

I did read a couple of topics about these fruits here, but among bali/java/malay etc cultivars are they more "juicy" ones or is it always a very dry fruit ?

The ones I had in Bintulu market were brown,Salacca zalacca I guess.

And by the way, if someone get some very good cultivars , my nursery still have plenty place  8)
