Mango Broken buds to flushes - how much time
« on: April 01, 2018, 12:13:41 PM »
Hi guys, i noticed that on my kent mango, there are buds breaking since 2 or three weeks ago, but still nothing coming out.
How long does it take for you guys generally to see flushes out of the buds after the buds break? is 3 weeks normal?

Once the buds start opening, the veg or bloom spikes usually push shortly after, I think around 1-2 weeks. If there are only swollen buds but they have not opened yet, they can stall on the tree for a long time, even 4 weeks or longer in my climate.

Thank you simon for pointing out the difference between swollen and broken buds. I was not accurate in my description then, i meant swollen buds for my case which are in that stage for almost 3 weeks. And good to know that it is normal. thank you again for sharing your experience.
