Just curious, but does anyone grow these?  As in actual variety?

Love fuchsia flowers!
A berry to boot would be awesome!

There are several species of Fuchsia....the berries can be eaten, but many other small fruits have a better taste.

Are these special type where you can eat the berries ?
I have many fuchsia plants , and was actually plucking them to encourage more flower bloom

This is suppose to be one selected for the berries, but it's not available outside of England I think.  Other species are edible (all?) and some are good or decent.  A lot just are not that good though.

The variety at the top of this thread is obviously new. In France the preferred variety is Fuchsia Regia 'Regal'. It has the best tasting berries and is pretty cold hardy as well.

This is just a Fuchsia magellanica hybrid! Many of these have very good berries. Arround here some people use them to made jams, others eat the fruits right out of hand. There are a lot of cultivars arround here used as ornamentals, and the original species, is quite invasive in some areas specialy in the rainforest, where it climbs, over the trees to reach light...
