pineapple growing without a top

good day all,

just thought id share a few pics of one of my pineapples growing this year that for some reason hasnt grown a crown. ive search all over and havent found anything that would point as to why this happened. either way once its ripe ill be eating it.

Diversity is the spice of life, and just to prove how far apart things can go I had this one with a virtually uncountable number of crowns:

thats interesting, ive never seen that, ive only been growing pineapples for about 7 years and theyre whenever i type in "pineapple" and "crown" into google i get flooded with guides on growing pineapples from the tops. probably the reason why i wasnt able to find anything that was relatable to whats happening with mine.
