Fai zee siu is way better than Haak yip and tai so Mauritius and you will be hocking those up after trying FZS. I like Mauritius and the rose water taste in them but its still flapping with the turkeys instead of soaring with the eagles.
HiSeedless litchi comes from China. There are 2 typesA4 (Completely non-nuclear)There is another kind, the fruit is huge and seedless (large egg)But I send you branches from China, maybe the grafting survival rate is not high

Yes but it is 8 years closer to them landing. Do they look familiar in case they are labelled as something else. I didn't realise they have been in Australia for about 40 years or more.
Ok the first 2 should be retired immediately, the kwai mai pink has the wrong variety pictured. There are some rebadged standards with different names. Not sure the haak ip is the real deal also. Emperor looks like a small fai zee siu maybe an early selection. No sum yee hong or other good ones from more recent decades. Looks like not much new has happened for 50 years of so. Look at the link from 40 years ago in my local area to figure out some correct names.
http://www.fruitnet.com/produceplus/article/180579/first-seedless-lychees-grown-in-australiaThere are about 40 varieties here but still the old types dominate production at the moment. Mauritius is just a Tai so selection and not differentiated here. I think the same thing is going on with atemoya and passionfruit. It is only time I am sure.
Mike how does the seedless taste compare to its counterparts?
I have eaten plenty of erdon lee but not seedless so can only report second hand from others who have and know lychees well. By all accounts they are very good and will dominate the high end pricing when they get in general circulation but erdon lee of course will probably rule as they are just so striking.
Looking online Fi Tsz Sui scions are available from Hilo station and landed in 1991. This is the same ‘concubines laugh’, right? Must not have caught on commercially for one reason or another
It would good to know Erdon Lee parentage for graft compatibility, is this known?
