Hello
I was wondering if anyone has the taiwan citrus called lieu ding? It tastes delicious, but no matter how much research i put in, I still cannot find the variety anywhere.
Cheers,
Matt

Liu ding is just the local name for orange. You need to ask what variety of orange it is.

ok thx

There is a citrus fruit spelled liu ding which is a variety very similar to Valencia. - Millet

I believe the liu ding was very pale in comparison to a regular orange, was much smaller, and had these thick separators not unlike a pomelo. It also tastes somewhat like a valencia orange but better!

This page has liu ding both as a generic name for orange (page title) as well as a variety of sweet orange.

Look under this heading: 柳丁(柳橙), above the Valencia orange section. Does that look right?
I still don't know where to find it though. The variety that's imported here could be the variety or it could be a random orange since they use the term for both things in Taiwan.

Nope, think of a cross between a mandarin and a pomelo, the size and sweetness of a mandarin, but the shape, color Inside of a pomelo.

Lieu ding in Taiwanese same as Valencia.
