Title: Do Kumquats taste better with age?
Post by: Empoweredandfree on October 08, 2018, 03:33:31 PM
Just curious as if like all other citrus, kumquats taste better as the tree matures?

I haven't noticed if they do, but they're a bit sour anyway. The only ones I actually eat are my changshu which are the best of the quats. Oh and my eustis limequat for my beer.

I heard Changshu is the best but I'm excited try my Meiwa this year. My expectations are not high so I won't be disappointed either way. I've only tried Nagami and it was revolting.

I love the Meiwa kumquats, they are sweet. My tree is loaded with fruits and this is a third crop of this year. Never tasted the Changshu though.

of all the Kumquats Meiwa is by favorite, Changshu is my next best choice.  Almost all citrus become better tasting with the age of the tree.   Kumquats should also.
