Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Looking for Omphalea seeds or plants
« on: August 19, 2019, 05:14:24 PM »

Or Does any of you know where to get them?
Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,
Henk

They look great!
Those came from Suriname?

Thanks! Yes, we received them fresh from Suriname yesterday.

3
Fruits arrived yesterday in good condition. First ones have been shipped out, but we still have this bunch left ;D

A few of the bicolor fruits are not ripe yet, and seed quality will probably not be as good as of the ones that we send to our customers. Therefore, we will use these seeds ourselves to see if we can manage to grow some plants out of them.

We unexpectedly got some Rhambutan as well. We will try to post them on our site in a few hours. If you’re interested and don’t want to miss out on them, you can send us a PM.

Hi!
The seeds come from several places. The ones we got today, the Theobroma and others available right now, came from Suriname and have been in transit for 2 days.
As the seeds are still in the fruits, they can be kept viable for a longer period.
When sent out from our storage, we pack them in humid moss to prevent them from drying out.
Even the most shortly viable seeds arrive healthy this way. Some seeds will have started to germinate already before shipping or will do in transit.

We don’t have Inga edulis and artocarpus seeds anymore right now. We expect to get some soon from Borneo and India. Seeds that we don’t have right now, can be ordered already. This allows us to ship the seeds as fresh as possible. Sometimes it can take a while however before we receive the desired species. Customers will be kept up to date on the status of their ordered seeds during this time.

5
FINALLY!!! 8) ;D

We are now allowed to ship plants worldwide! The shipping costs have been updated, so everyone can order plants as well.

Also, we will receive more Theobroma grandiflorum and bicolor fruits this week.... don’t miss out on them!

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Looking for Adenia hondala syn. palmata
« on: December 25, 2018, 05:11:26 AM »
Hi!
I’m looking for seeds or plants of Adenia hondala syn. palmata.
Anyone here who has some or knows someone who does?
Thanks!

Our plants have been placed in winter storage again!
However, the plants are not kept any colder here to be able to supply our customers year-round.

They will be going back in the greenhouse around May next year. Meanwhile, we will keep them comfortable in this isolated room🌱🌞

How do you store and pack perishable seeds?

We try not to store any seeds. When we do, we keep them cold and moist, or when possible, inside the fruit.
We have experienced that it is best to directly send the seeds to our customers when we receive them, because it optimizes germination rate. When customers order seeds with us, we import the seeds as soon as they are ripe. Then, when we receive them, they are distributed amongst our customers.

The seeds that we do have in storage right now are listed above on the ‘seeds’ page of our store.

Seeds are shipped in moist moss, which makes it possible for them to start germinating in the package. This way they won’t loose their viability.

We have a Facebook page as well now!

Yes, unfortunately all of them are tropical as well. They can handle temperatures a bit lower though, something like 13 degrees Celsius, but that’s probably too warm in winter as well.
Are you looking for something specific?

11
The beetles available in the store right now are all from tropical central and South America.
They need a temperature of 18-28 degrees Celsius to grow properly, best at 24-28, so it’s not really doable in Europe. But they would definitely not be harmful to your garden. They feed on rotten oak and beech leaves and wood.

12
We should be able to receive orders through the website now. Go take a look to see if there's something interesting for you!  :)

13
Thank you so much!
That’s a great tip thanks!
