My Reed cado is a late bloomer, March, and just saw this. Blooms the end of June, WTH?

My young Reed tree is growing like weed. No new flowers.

My friends reed graft is holding marble to thumb sized fruit already. I'm surprised you have cool enough weather to still induce blooms, especially in your greenhouse.

No new blooms here but my fruit are kumquat sized. Going out of town for 10 days and praying we don't get 100 degree weather while I'm gone.
Are blooms and temperature related like with mangos?

We've had a a very mild spring and early summer with most nights bottoming out into the 50's or 60's. Heat is just now ramping up.

Out of the avocado varieties that I grow, Reed has always peaked in bloom the latest too. Mine generally peaks in May but continues into June. The strangest thing to me about the Reed in my yard is that it also gets started about as early as the others. So last year it had golf-ball sized fruit on it in June (that set probably in February) while it was still setting brand new fruitlets.

Interesting how much macro and micro climes play a part on all this. My Reed finishs blooming come April and is now holding golf ball size fruit. I have 14 cannonball size fruit left hanging from last year which I hoard, been harvesting a few since April. I've given away only 2 to good friends since it's been in. Yes, I know. I'm damn stinggie on this one.
Oro Negro is the same regarding harvest times. Seems Florida starts harvesting in the fall. Mine aren't ready until Jan. - Feb.
