can you eat raw guarana seeds

ive been doing research and there are raw guarana products, i was always under the impression it needs to be roasted. has anyone eaten raw guarana seeds before. is the red part any use for anything or eaten as well.

I think you can just chew them to get the caffeine.

Went in the back with Frankie to get some guarana seeds.  He told me one of the workers was super tired after a long day at the farm chewed on one guarana and then just got awake and went surfing till the evening!
