I have seedlings that will be ready soon.

I planted some seeds for myself, and hope they'll germinate.
I need some Scions for faster fruit.

Thanks,
Al

Did you see this link?

You may be able to get a graftable piece from a store bought fruit.
Check the YouTube Video linked to in Pineislander's post

Also same guy showing a different grafting method that requires less material.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grPMsZSEX40

Thanks Orkine, I saw that video, but the fruit I brought didn't have a good vital stem.

...just to add I tried to graft the bottom piece and I failed, tried again with another slightly longer piece from another fruit just sticking it in a pot to root and it worked. Just another option incase like me your grafting skills aren’t good.

Looks that the germination rate is not bad.  A lot of the seeds sprouted it.

I have some yellow dragon fruit plants that I can cut and sell you.

How many cuttings did you need, and how long ?

I don't know the name since it was from a nursery and it just says yellow dragon fruit.

Do you have a picture of the fruit?  The one I am looking for is the fruit has spikes on it.  Here is link to the video.

No fruit on mine, you need to hand pollinate it.
I just don't get to the flowers in time and its done usually when I notice it. But my plants are big.
Should be same or similar, its from La Verne nursery.

The reason I wanted a picture of the fruit is there is two type of yellow dragon fruits as far as I know.  One with spikes and one without.  My wife and I have tried both, she only like the one with spikes, Chinese supermarket name it 麒麟果.

Thanks,
Al

Oh, I see. I thought the yellow ones without the thorns were newer types and all the older ones had the spikes.
I'm not much into the DF so don't know enough about these. Brad (spaugh) is a good supplier of the DF and he could help you.

Thanks Kaz, I don't know to much of DF either and I am ok with the fruit.  My wife is the only one love them, and force me to eat it.  I plant DF because she want me to.

Well, in that case, you should get some yellow from me since my plants are getting to big and I need to remove/cut them back. I also have a nice red one someone gave me and that fruit tasted good. It is also a big plant now but I don't hand pollinate so I don't see any fruits on the plant.

That one is a columbian type megalanthus.  It has smaller spiney fruit.

The big palora type megalanthus have larger and less wavy vines.

If you are close to cal poly they sell small palora dragon fruit plants for a reasonable price($7). They have curbside pick up on the smaller plants(you order online and they email you when they are available for pick up). I cant remember if they had larger palora plants in stock right now. I did email the nursery manager and got a very fast response.

I am able root the stem came with the fruit.  I don't know just the local supermarket here or else where.  All the fruits are selling now, the stems are cutted in half, unable to try anything with it.

The other picture is the seedlings I germinated
