Guava tree issues

Hi all, I am new to the forum recently moved to a new house with a guava tree among others, the tree appears sick, the leaves are eaten up and the trunk has been eaten up as well I took some pictures hoping you all can help me get this guy back in shape.

The minor damage at the base of the trunk is from pruning off suckers.
