can the peanut butter tree take wet feet?
« on: July 17, 2018, 09:33:54 PM »
Anyone knows or has experience? It was doing fine for about 9 months then with the daily summer afternoon showers the past 2-3 weeks, it started to decline. Have a Geffner that did the same thing. Leaves looked wilted.

No where to plant it ...but at least I got it. ;)

I have a small one as well that is doing fine so far. I'm on top of the Everglades, so I'm also getting showers every afternoon. Where my tree is located the soil gets very saturated since it's near where the pool overflows.

My two trees look great and seem to like the humid wet season. My trees drain real
well, my whole yard does? Does it have fruit/flowers? Is it in the ground or pot?

Its been in the ground for the past 9-10 months. It flowered 2x since the start of spring but did not set. Then with the afternoon showers, the leaves started the wilt.

My bunchosia is in a place that does get wet feet and it hasn’t been a problem.

I didn't exactly put mine in a prime spot, one of the lowest spots in my yard and it's doing fine.  Although, I do agree that it developed a lot of flowers, but only a few fruit.  I mainly contributed this to the fact that I received the tree in very poor condition and it's only been in the ground a few months.

I did put some Black Kow manure around the tree and lightly fertilized it.  That may make the difference here.
