Another one. This time I got more info. It comes from Amazon jungle, and the Jivaro eat the fruit. Looks like a garcinia ? Fruits are yellow when ripe.

Just tasted one fruit today. Pretty interesting taste although a bit tart but 3 seeds inside and very few flesh. As a result, not so much to eat from those fruits. It is more a collector specie I reckon.

What color was the  fruit?

Yellow? Or orange?

I notice they can be tart if you eat them too early when they are yellow.

When they are fully ripe and orange they taste best.

I'm wondering if you have something besides gardneriana? Or if you don't like tart flavor at all?

The ones I've had are definitely a bit tart, but they are also sweet, and have only one seed per fruit. (At least so far after harvesting 4 fruits)...the seed is not too large, so there is plenty of flesh to eat.

The fruit was yellow. You are right, may be not fully ripe. I liked the taste ( sweet and tart ) the problem was the lack of flesh. I will wait for the other fruits to turn orange then. Thanks for the advice Adam.

ok let me know if they are better when they are orange.

it can take a while for them to turn orange!  it's very tempting to eat them when they are yellow!  i still end up eating them yellow most of the time...because i'm worried a rat will steal my fruit!

hopefully they have more flesh to eat!  but the seeds aren't a bad thing!  they are good for trading!!  ;D

this fruit has vitamin c and antioxidants! I think they are great for your health.
