Hey guys

I'm from New Zealand and Jaboticaba Cauliflora is the only Jaboticaba species (except yellow) that we can legally import.

I'm trying to gather a list of all of the good rare or common varieties of Cauliflora or cauliflora hybrids that are worth growing.

I already have Grimal, red hybrid and sabara and I know of the following other kinds:

Escarlate
Acu paulista
Wavy leaf Acu paulista
Paulista
Otto Anderson
Novak
De pulpa rosea

Can anyone add to this list please?

Thanks so much.

I'm selling seeds of some of these varieties in nz. Like my page "marvellous fruits" and join my group NZ rare fruit growers". Have seedlings of some of them too. Variation seed to seed but good chance of decent fruit.

This is totally unique. I can't say I've ever seen or heard of this.

This is a little off-topic but what heating system do people use for their greenhouses? I'd imagine gas is the best option because it is wireless. If so, what kind of gas heater?

Thanks!

Thanks

To my eye, your seedlings look different to ordinary cherimoya seedlings. To me, there is real hope that this could be a real hybrid. I can't wait to see more mature plants and eventually what the flowers and fruit looks like.

Please keep us updated :) You should eventually be able to graft a piece of the "Hybrid" seedling to a mature fruiting cherimoya and get flowers faster.

Looks awesome! I've messaged you. Still searching everyone...

This all looks great, thanks for the update. I'm really glad the seeds are germinating. Were these ones stratified?

Looking forward to seeing the seedlings once they have more size.

Still searching for these if anyone has any leads :)

Wish that happened in new Zealand. We don't have any commercial growers. I only know one person in the whole country that has a couple of small seedlings lol. We can't have fruit shipped to us either.

17
Yeah for sure, I've heard the same. Most haven't wanted to sell seeds unfortunately. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

18
Does anyone know where to source these seeds? Still looking. Wanting 100-200 now and willing to pay what they're worth. Thanks.

We have Lucuma here, quite a lot of kinds. Still not easy to get your hands on, but they're also quite different to green sapote. The grafting combination sounds great, but we can't receive plant material except seeds in New Zealand. So I have to start a bunch of seedlings first anyway.

So still seeking 50-100 seeds. Anyone?

Hey all,

I'm looking for 50-100 green sapote seeds, preferably from a top named variety, shipped to New Zealand.

Please message me if you can help and make a good sale!

Thanks

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Jaboticaba seed storage question
« on: June 04, 2019, 05:26:17 AM »
Hey everyone,

I wanted to know whether Jaboticaba are truly Recalcitrant seeds or if anyone has had experience with successful sprouting dried seeds? Like not bone dry, but say a couple of weeks outside of moisture, kept inside a bag, of course. Or would they lose viability really fast?

Thanks for any info!
Nick

23
Oh cool, good to know.

Do you have picks of Raul's giant cherimoyas??

24
Hey Steve, thanks for that.

I've sent you a PM

Hello!

I want to buy anywhere between 100-200 miracle fruit seeds. Is anyone able to supply this many in moist vermiculite?

Thank you!
