ChatGPT said the answer is 42...so that is my first guess.

67 is my second.

Regarding buying plants, is it too hot to risk delivery here in Florida right now?

Kameron does a phenomenal job with packing and shipping plants and seeds. I had some arrive during the past few weeks when it was REALLY hot here in Florida and everything arrived in excellent shape! No stress whatsoever.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: WTB Jarilla species seeds

Hello , you can buy all jarilla seeds at www.rarepalmseeds.com

seeds germinate

Awesome! What did you do to get them to germinate? I tried a few species once from Tradewindsfruit, but their Jarilla spp seeds may have been old that time. I have Jarilla heterophylla and Jarilla chocola, but only one of each so no fruits. They do flower each year though. I noticed they also go dormant every winter so don't throw them out if they die back when it gets too dry and/or cold.

Raul on the forum occasionally has some rare papaya relative seeds.

Dada used get seed of Duguetia Lepidota Yara Yara in Venezuela rarely but  he has disappeared.Vitor had some very very rare huge fruited Duguetia from Brazil but i was new then did not get a chance to acquire any before he disappeared.

yeah, what happened to vitor?  He had some crazy stuff.

Wish I knew where Vitor was. His seeds were top quality every time.

I never dug one up, but when it's that big, i would get nervous if you nick the tap root or something.  I would think you'd make more money from the rooted cuttings over the long run.  I think on oahu, if you can get one from frankies, he's asking 50-60 easy. but idk what Florida prices are.

Good luck in this sale Not often do you get this offered for sale!

I second that! Much better off selling clones from this since its so well established.

Congrats, Ryan! That is a great score and even though you could do a little better if you tried again it will probably still get you where you want to go. Thanks for the great offer. Hope the plants are still doing well!

Everything arrived fast and in excellent condition with so many already starting to germinate!! Thank you for all the extra seeds!!

Thanks for offering these species to us for such great prices! Much better than having to pay for importing seeds + shipping + phytosanitairy certificate and still hope that it makes it from some other country.

Ok all prices raised 1 cent.   8) Please do! I love when people think it’s an easy way to make money. It would make for a cool vacation if you like hiking 90 degrees and 100 percent humidity in the Amazon covered in deet wearing long sleeve shirts and pants 7 to 8 hours a day searching for fruit. Not to mention a foreign country where we need to hire a translator to talk to locals. I don’t speak Tikuna…. Do you? The places we camped had no running water or electricity. Still sound like fun? After a long days hike then come home and clean seeds for 2 hours in the dark! Fun vacation stuff! If this sounds like a vacation then we need more people like you and and I’ll even invite you on my next expedition! Oh and you need your yellow vaccine to travel where I go. It’s mandatory and make sure you have a malaria precaution plan.

Thank you for allowing to me to explain My pricing and why the price will only RISE with further seeds drops as the quality of my offerings gets better and better. I learn and change my seed storage procedure every new drop. Always trying to improve and the last couple seed drop have very high germination rates.

I hire local guides to take me into the jungle. Most of these fruit are not found at the market. If I found them at the market then they are priced accordingly.  I took two fruit experts last trip and they didn’t spot  anything. ;) I’ll even happily give you all the gps locations I marked. You can go go back and get all the same fruits and seeds except you need to go at the same time next year as  Amazon fruits only stay in season for Around 3 weeks then it’s a new fruit crop. . So all the fruit we found are probably no longer available. I went last year in May and got completely different fruit.  And all my Tikuna indigenous guides (make sure you tip them as much as I did because they are amazing people and deserve it). I don’t try and get the cheapest possible seeds. I am trying to build a community of explorers to build value to the community. Maybe if we show locals that there is value in these trees as opposed to trying to get the seeds at the cheapest possible price and “take” from the locals, then we can actually have something sustainable. if we want them to preserve nature then the people with money need to fund it instead of whining about 1 dollar more for a seed.

Also my seeds are 100 percent true because I collected, cleaned, inspected, and never left my sight. Not sure if any other seed provider in the USA can say that. Maybe you Shiloh and palologrower haha.  But if none of that is important to you then please buy seeds from someone else.  I am almost sold out of many species and almost all my customers are repeat customers ;)

Absolutely LOVE that you are helping the Tikuna build a sustainable market in their community and profit off of their own native forest in a eco friendly, sustainable way! Very Romulus Whitaker of you. I have to admit that all that deet covered rough traveling does sound like an incredible vacation to me! Lol

I have roughed it through various parts of the neotropics alone and with others and still come up with far fewer useful species. Thanks for all you do and don't let the haters take up space in your head...they are no doubt incredibly jealous or suffering from delusions of grandeur.

All the seeds I have ordered from you have been of the highest possible quality. Also, thanks for the extra seeds in the last order. I HIGHLY recommend your shop to anyone interested in quality viable seeds at a fair price!

My seedlings are now btwn 10 & 12 feet tall in large pots and have been stepped up regularly. They are very resilient in Central Florida, but still have yet to produce their first flowers.

That is pretty cool. For me it is a bit of a stretch to believe just from visual comparisons of photographs alone. I haven't had the chance to speak with Aline Stadnik, but I'll take your word for it seeing as that is probably never going to happen. Lol

Thanks for the fun little game! It was a nice distraction.

Sorry to hear that Jabba. Let us know if there are any plants you are looking for or trying to replace. I'm not big into Plinia, but if I have anything I can send you some plants or at least scions. I'm sure a lot of other people would want to help as well.
Every season I worry we will get hit bad... Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Pg. - 333   Arvores Brasileiras Lorenzi volume 3

Is that helpful? You can look in a library buy it or if you can't find a copy then you can easily find a PDF online...

You both are awesome and have done much more than most of us here could (or would) to get new species in the US at affordable prices. Happy to support you in your endeavor!!

Cheers!

To the people who won: sorry for shipping delay. This week is midterms/finals so I’m a bit busy will try to get them out before the end of the week! Thanks for understanding!

No rush, Ryan. The mail will probably be useless in Florida until next week. Best of luck on finals!

Everything looks outstanding! So many seeds were already germinating. You have outdone yourself yet again!!
