Is it vista white loquat? I have seedling of big Jim and it is fruiting first time , so I don’t know if it taste good at all. I don’t have other loquat to trade with you. I have guava , ice cream bean seedlings if you need those, can I trade with your loquat ?

Is it bigger than big Jim. If so, do you sell it since I don’t have anything to trade with you?

You're grafting loquat now? What times of the year do you find loquat grafts work for you?

Hi Fang, yes i am i have found that loquat can be grafted year around but the grafts do take faster if done during a new growth flush, i know a lot of people have been taught to graft after they have fruited in spring or early summer but i think that is more to protect the fruit than any best grafting practice, however when 1st timers ask me i do tell them spring or early summer.        Regards    Patrick

Thanks Patrick. I'll graft loquats again after I'm done with all the deciduous stuff. Last year's 120F heat killed my new 10-in-1 loquat. This year's non-flowering loquats include Jim's Big White, SG1 (from San Garbriel), SG6. My Jazzy always flowers, which is why it's remained small for the last 5 years.

Have you tried grafting onto soft rootstock shoots? I'll have to try that with my new loquat seedling tree.

Hi Fang, the smallest/youngest i have where about 3/16 and a little over a year old seedlings for me it is more having rootstalk large enough to graft than old enough to graft

Patrick, thanks for the scions.  I grafted them yesterday.  McBeth scions went in the mail yesterday.  They should reach you today or tomorrow.
