I've heard that there are some sweet and good tasting hybrids out there, I think developed/selected in Israel (?). So far I've only tasted D. caffra and D. hebecarpa: Not really worth growing. In fact I think I will cut down both caffras I'm growing.
I thought it came out of USDA Miami... just back from google and here it is A hybrid Dovyalis, resulting from open pollination between two plants growing on the Station, Dovyalis abyssinica (A. a few days ago I tasted a hybrid dovyalis, with no seeds or thorns...the fruit is nice, and reminiscent of a small peach...somewhat tart, but they get sweet if they're really ripe.is anyone growing this one? or does anyone have comments about this tree?
Sounds like a great fruit(seedless to!), would love to try it and possibly plant it out.

Can get trees will find out about seedswaitng for courier to reply want to send you jackfruit trees
My understanding is that dovyalis are generally dioecious - does the same apply to the hybrid?
