Tropical Fruit Discussion / Flavor of Annona conica
« on: November 02, 2018, 01:19:24 AM »
Has anyone had this fruit?  I got one seed to sprout and it seems to be doing well out in my greenhouse.  I've been trying to kinda baby it since it's endangered, but I wonder if the taste is even worth it.  I read on another post here that someone had it 25 years ago and it was bland.  But, I wonder if anyone else has an opinion of it.  Thanks.

Hello.  I've got some cuttings of my dragon fruit for sale.  I'm not 100% sure of the variety, but it may be orange as that's what it was listed as when I bought it.  Only $5.  Sorry, local only.  I'm not shipping anywhere.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Surinam Cherry Advice
« on: September 10, 2018, 11:21:55 PM »
Hello.  I got some Surinam cherries, but not a lot.  Lots of flowers, but barely any fruit.  It's really a shame because they were extremely delicious!! The first crop I got when I first got the tree was, OK, but this year the taste has been exceptional, and extremely juicy!  In fact I bit into one expecting it to be kinda juicy and ended up choking a little! Any advice on how to get more fruit?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Achachairu Growing Information Please
« on: August 19, 2018, 03:58:16 PM »
Hello.  I'm looking all over the internet, but I think I'd rather just ask someone who's grown one.  I have one in the kitchen window, but I can't keep it there forever, so I'm wondering what kind of weather they can stand.  We get over 100 and down to 40 here in Los Angeles, CA.  Will they grow in that kind of climate.  I don't want to take it outside and it dies.  It's probably little more than a year old.  Thanks.

Hello.  If anyone is selling Annona diversifolia white flesh, seedling or seeds, I'm interested.  I know it says green in the title, but that's a mistake.  Prefer you're in the US, but I have gotten things internationally.  Just be sure you've shipped to Los Angeles, CA before.  CA is too darn strict sometimes.  I also prefer a seedling to seeds as the seeds can be a pain to germinate I hear, unless you have some info on how to germinate them.  Thanks.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Searching for rare Annona seeds
« on: June 15, 2018, 10:24:32 PM »
Hello.  I'm in search of all kinds of seeds of the Annona/Duguetia family.  If anyone has some to sell, let me know.  Please also let me know, if internationally shipping, if you have success with shipping to Los Angeles, CA as we seem to have the dumbestly strict import laws.  Thanks everyone.  The rarer the better.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Advise on growing Annona Scleroderma
« on: February 12, 2018, 04:41:22 AM »
Hello everyone.  I'm just trying to find out any information on growing this tree.  I got a 5 foot one, but I'm not sure what kind of climate I should have it in.  Right now I have it in a greenhouse, and I live in zone 10B, Los Angeles.   It's such a rare tree and hard to find, I really want to get it growing.  Any information, especially from someone that has successfully grown one would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

« on: October 04, 2017, 02:37:38 PM »
Hello.  I just got one of my Annona crassiflora seeds to sprout! It only took a month for some reason.  One I've planted in June that hasn't come up, and I have another two that haven't come up.  Has anyone got any experience with growing the tree?
