Hi Alex , i suggest: if you have a chance, get a seedling going, so you can graft later on. This variety is backordered at ZHPP , i heard they are filling 2019 orders right now for the nurseries and if available that too will be sold at a very high price. You will surely be able to get scions here from members next season.
Tell me again what makes it better than Alano. Larger fruit? Less grit? Smaller tree? I don't know how it could top Alano in flavor.

Do you think it will be big enough in the fall to graft to(assuming that I find seeds)?

They take a while to get graft size from seed.I have some from earlier this year but they are only 6 inches.

I think I'll buy a larger good variety and then buy butterscotch scions like Satya suggested. Don't want to wait 6 years for fruit by grafting to a seedling.
