Here is one of my multi grafted tree. This tree originally is Ewais on Manila rootstock. It now has LZ, Phillippine, Keo Savoy, NDM, and Mahachanok. Right now the NDM still has fruit and should be ready soon. Ewais also now has fruit formed.

If you are by the coast Indian mango does not do well, they produce well if you are more Inland. My Alphonso never has done well and produce very few fruit, they get powdery mildew from the morning fog easily. Indian mangoes love heat..
All mangos love heat!

What I mean is 100+ dry desert heat...

I bought 30 red sugar apple seeds from ebay and 25 of them has sprouted so far. They did take a long time to germinate about 4-6 weeks and I see another 3 barely coming out of the soil. Once germinated they do grow fast..

I am not an expert by any chance but from my observation at least in my area manila rootstock mangoes does very well. Florida turpentine will survive but very slow grower and tend to flowers at least the 1st couple of years instead of growing flushes. My alphonso now is still small in height but the main trunk has gotten big and now steady. What I am saying is it take a little more time for turpentine to adjust here in Cali. I just bought a grafted keitt @ Lowes and a manila mango I will be using to graft a coconut cream and LZ in to it.

20
Ant, do you buy trees that are already on manila rootstock? Or do you just graft onto manila trees that you buy from the store?

I bought them already on Manila rootstock.

21
How long ago did you plant your Coconut Cream in the ground? and is on on Turpentine.

Just wondering as I noticed you have many flowers still and my CC is now starting its first flush on some branches and has already finished flowering overall.

Johnny

CC has been in the ground for 2 years now, I got that from POG out in Florida. I like the height now but a very slow grower in So. Cal

Thank guys, for some reason Florida mango trees are dwarf in my area. I live in the South Bay area that could also be a reason. I do have chico sapote, atemoya, and cherimoyas doing well also.

Hello guys have not post here in awhile due too a busy schedule. Did a very hard pruning on all my mango tree. You will notice that mango on manila rootstock tends to grow taller than florida brought trees.

I would not prune at this time,  you will not get any growth because winter is coming soon. Pruning in California is different than Florida. Select pruning is what you need in California.
