seedling root sucker propagation

My mature, fruiting miracle berry (from seed) had a nice root sucker about 10in long, with an inch or two of small roots of its own. I cut it out and planted it....is this likely to fruit significantly faster than a newly planted seed?

I did the same thing with a red jab root sucker.
I have no idea if it fruits any sooner... although the mother is blooming well.

two and a half years later... the root sucker cutting has grown slightly and is now fruiting for the first time. The seedlings pretty much all died off. It turns out this plant really likes shade and I was killing it with full sun.
