They look like two different varieties based on the shape of the fruit, perhaps a multigraft tree? But, I believe I read an article that said the pollinating parent can affect the shape of the fruit.

Thanks Simon, this tree is grow from seed no grafted and no hand pollinated. Just sprayed water when forming flowers and I did not see any cherimoya tree around the neighborhood that I am aware.

I was just in LA, and everywhere I went I was spotting annona in yards.
I have also read that the pollen donor (cherimoya, or sugar apple) can affect the shape of the fruit.

I have 4 seedling trees 25 years+ old on 1 of them that is common

Thanks for everyone info. Now I know is not my tree problem, it is pollen might affected it.

Ive got a grafted tree that does the same thing. It looks like that kind too. Has scales with bumps in the scales and some fruits dont have the bumps some do.

Hi PinkTurtle,
"Just sprayed water when forming flowers" -- Can you please elaborate further in terms of at what stage you just sprayed water when forming flowers? Thanks!

It is sample, when the flowers are forming, adjusts the water hose head to the shower. Spray the whole tree from top to down during the morning and evening.
