I didn't include the sugar apple and the valencia pride mango. The valencia pride has it's own space in the front yard along with two coconut palms. Will take pics of those as soon as I can.

You are putting your yard to very good use. The trees look wonderful. Very nice selection of fruit varieties and cultivars. How come no lychee? In my book it's a must have.

Thanks :)

I have a small space left and that is for the NS-1 jackfruit seedling that I'm growing. No space for lychee. :(

Very nice Alexi,
your trees look very happy and some nice fruit too.  About how long did your canistel airlayer take to root before you separated it?

Your yard looks great! Is it the first time your canistel is producing fruit?

Thanks for sharing your update with us.  Very nice selection of trees and all look good.  I am most impressed by your Lemon Zest mango.  Either you planted it way before I planted mine or I need to take lessons from you about growing mangoes.

Thanks Ethan.

If I remembered correctly, the canistel airlayer took more or less 2 months before I noticed that the leaves of the branch that  was airlayered were droopy. When I took the foil and bounty napkin off, along with the miracle gro soil I had in there, I've noticed that there was a weird white coral-like growth coming from the bottom section of the bark that is attached to the air layered branch. I cut it off and planted it in good soil in a small pot. The leaves were cut in half and I made a mini green/humid house for it with bamboo sticks and an old bed comforter clear plastic bag. That was a year ago. Now is when growth began to appear.  Even before the first growth appeared, when I took the tree out of it's little humid bag, I've noticed that the tree wouldn't droop anymore, so I just located it in the shade out in the open. That was like 2 months back.

Yup it is. It has bloomed twice before and no fruit were set. It gained some size now and before the previous bloom, I added coffee grounds. After that, the blooms produced fruit. Might be a coincidence though.

Thanks Harry. It's my pleasure to share these pics. :) I planted the lemon zest in october of 2011.  It was a wimpy little twig.  I just water it and applied pine bark mulch a year and a half back. Now and then, I apply used Bustelo espresso coffee grounds. It also helps that it is in the rotting root zone of a norfolk pine tree. Lots of beneficial critters eating up those roots and turning them into good soil.

Very nice! Your trees are going nuts in that sandy soil. Lucky. You might want to just apply a micronutrient mix. With your sandy soil, your trees should be able to use it just fine.

Thanks! Funny thing, I barely tip or trim them. The glenn had to be trimmed on one side due to it leaning after a tropical storm. Same story with the Lemon Zest. The lemon zest would have been a bit larger if it wasn't for the tropical storm last year. The Nam doc mai is naturally like that. I just clean up the inside of the canopy of my mango trees a bit if they get too bushy to allow light penetration and air circulation. I did that with the Nam Doc Mai and Lemon Zest mango trees.

Thanks. :) My glenn gave one flower last year and nothing. Now it is healthier and larger and it has been dormant for 2 months, so it looks like it might give a good bloom this upcoming mango season. It was transplanted when it was fairly large, so that must be the reason why it took a while to settle. Glenns are supposedly very productive.

Thanks Jeff! I'll definitely try a micronutrient mix. Jr. Peters sells a Jack's Classic soluble fertilizer with minors for citrus, avocado and mangoes. I'll begin using it this spring. For the carrie mango, I'll apply a nutritional micro element spray as soon as possible.

You might just try a granular mix, like Southern Ag's Essential Minor Element mix. Your soil is probably neutral, unless you are watering with well water.
