Yup, only ten Alphonsos in that box for $40. If I were looking for a deal, I would have picked up a box of 18 small Manilla mangos for $6.99, lol. What can I say, I really love mangos and variety is the spice of life. How were the quality of the mangos you picked up?Simon
I just bought a box of kesar mango . It is the most expensive mango box I ever bought in my life $30.00/box. I hope it is good like everybody said . The fruits are still green, so I have to wait a few days . I wonder if I can grow this tree from seed. Do you know where I can find a tree to buy?
after reading this, I decided to pick up a box of alphonso yesterday from cash&carry. I experience was just horrible. The first one cut up looks nasty inside, so I decided to cut the 2nd, same thing, and went to the 3rd one, same thing. They were all looking nice and golden on the outside. no wrinkles at all. There were no more golden ripe on in the box, I decide to cut up the 4th one which is a bit green. It looks ok, but it was sour. Nasty flavors and firm, does not taste like a ripe mango. anyone else had the same experience or is it just me??? How can you eat this? $4 for a wasted mango.
I have been enjoying Alphonso and Kesar for the last 3 weeks now. The only way I can get them is through mangozz.com. But they are excellent quality! They have either been perfectly ripe or just a couple of days from perfectly ripe. I have not been at all disappointed.
