Hello,
My sweetheart lychee is flowering very well for the first time, it's fruited before but not a lot of fruit set. It's been in the ground for six years and is about 13 ft height and spread. I gave it 0-0-50 in early December and it's received only rainfall for irrigation since October. I was wondering when to start irrigating it again and if another round of 0-0-50 would be benefical. I have searched online and have found too much water encourages vegetative growth at the expense of fruiting and too little the fruit set is poor as the flowers dry out. What is the right amount? When is the right time to start? Is there a spray that is needed? My mango trees produce loads of fruit and I spray nothing, are lychees more prone to anthracnose or powdery mildew than mango?
Thanks
Mike
