Mango grafting question - See pic
« on: March 24, 2019, 07:52:27 AM »
Hi All, need your opinion on grafting a branch of a Pickering mango onto a seedling.

I would like to graft it low(Option1) as I plan to keep it in a pot indefinitely, however, the scion thickness
does not match. What type of graft could I do at level Option1 that would have a high success rate? I have grafting experience but not with mango.

I could always do a wedge graft at level Option2 but rather not go that high. Thank you in advance.

I would do a veneer graft.

yah, a veneer graft would work at option 1, and if it fails the seedling can be regrafted. The greener part (option 2) would give a better chance of take because it is green.
