Ricardo, except cause the fruit´s size, it could be STRYCHNOS PSEUDO-QUINA: http://www.colecionandofrutas.org/strychinospseudo.htm
By other side, it could be STRYCHNOS TRINERVIS http://www.colecionandofrutas.org/strychnostrinervis.htm, but the seeds of your fruit looks different.... Looks like your fruit has bigger seeds and in lower quantity...

I found a pdf that talks about several Strychnos from Brasil, and it has botanical drawings. Maybe, it helps you to identify the tree correctly: http://rodriguesia.jbrj.gov.br/FASCICULOS/rodrig60_4/024-09.pdf

Cassio,

Thank you !  :)

Ricardo

Can you describle the taste of Willughbeia elmerii ?

Thank you !!!

Ricardo

Ricbitar, you watered your pedalai this past year?
I planted my definitive establishment in late October, this year the rains are few.
Its landscape seemed very familiar, banana trees, lychee ...

Beautiful plant congratulations

Thanks
No, I dont watered, the region is classified as " Af " in the Koppen scale,
Sometimes the rain is a problem to work

Some time ago I posted some pictures of my seedlings of Artocarpus, to know if they are Pedalai or A.  elasticus, Most people said they appeared to be more A. elasticus.,
However comparing the picture posted by bangkok and my, they look very alike
I continue with the doubt :

  my seedling picture

bangkok seedling picture

Hi RICBITAR! Just want to know if you're finally able to identify your plant. Is it pedalai?

The same seedling in the picture, after a 1,3 years in soil

I want !!!!!!!!!!!

Maryoto

Which is better, B. macrocarpa or B.deflexa ? Which is bigger ?

Thanks

I could not get a single one to germinate. And this was from several different shipments of cupuacu. So i think there is certainly some improvement needed just on handling of this one particular species. This is nailing''''

Why don't you let Ricardo respond and he can say whether he feels "nailed" by me, instead of putting words into his mouth?

Oscar is a very good friend, and I am fruitlovers.com fan, of course he don't " nailed "
I begun my first experiences with exotic and tropical fruits some years ago through Oscar's website,
Coincidentally, Today , I bought seeds Garcinia prainiana from fruitlovers.com
Of course, we are dealing with tropical seeds, some species have good rate germination, others have worst rate germination,
Cupuaçu is a good example for a 0% rate germination

9
I think the several cupuassu seeds I sent to various parts of the world, none germinated, unlike some species who have more than 90% of germination, Cupuaçu seeds is really a big problem
The more impressive, I WARNING THE RATE GERMINATION IS 0%, and yet the persons want and  buy cupuaçu seeds  :)

They stay viable from the trip to Australia and some as long as they are packed right which ricardo does. By the way do you have any seeds available again soon Ricardo?
Cheers Don

Don

Thank you

How long does it take to go from seed to fruit with this variety. I've seen a few numbers thrown out in other threads but I was hoping someone could clarify. Thanks!

Hi,

The time to fruit by seed can take 5~10 years, will depend the climate, the soil, the water, fertilization, the region, and others factors
Thanks

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: How long do Artocarpus seeds stay viable
« on: November 29, 2015, 12:37:49 PM »
The question was for mainly seeds being kept in storage, but i believe like you have stated if they are stored in conditions to keep them viable they would most likely sprout.

I should rephrase the question then, do they go into dormancy if kept dry and would they be able to sprout when planted.

The artocarpus seeds don't go into dormancy when dried out, they go into death.  ;D
Best way to store them is inside the unopened fruit. The fruit can start to rot a bit and seeds will still be ok. If you refrigerate the whole fruit so it doesn't rot then you can keep the seeds inside even longer. If you must take them out of the fruit keep them in well aired container slightly moistened in the fridge. Generally speaking the larger the seed the longer you can keep them. For example, jackfruit and chempadek seeds will keep much longer than marang or keledang seeds.

Oscar,

I received a package from you after 50 days in transit, and for my surprise had two good odorless Marang  and germinated seeds

Thanks

Ricardo is one of the best, being honest and professional as well as going beyond the call of duty in generosity. His packaging is first class and I believe he would warn people with the difficult species. In a dispute about seeds my experience tells me Ricardo is the one to support and believe.

Mike

Thanks for your positive comments,

Ricardo is one of only a handful of seed suppliers that I trust.  Even with the very long transit time, never had issues with germination.

Wouldn't hesitate to order from him at all.

Kimi

Thanks for your positive comments,

I'm sorry if Dominik had a bad experience, but I don't think it's Ricardos fault.
I have dealt with with Ricardo in the past, and I can only confirm the good reputation he has!
Obrigado Ricardo :)

not so young hehhehehe  42 kilometers run hehhehehehehehhehe, but still mental young boy heheheheh

42? Young for sure! I´ll be in 51 in six months.  ;D
Dou you bought those mangostens at Varejão da Vila Sonia? Sadly, every box that I buy there, has at least one or two fruits in bad conditions... >:(

Hi Cassio,

I bought directly in Ceagesp, this big fruits are from Bahia,
In Brazil we have two states with big Mangosteen cultive, Bahia and Pará
The better fruits are from Bahia, I dont know why the fruits from Para is not so good, and have several seeds in a fruit, I think Para are too hot and very humid, or the fruit take a long time to arrive in SP

22
Cassio , Thanks

Just to clear, about the package of Domnik :

1- He bought seeds Theobroma grandiflorum (Cupuaçu), the faster recalcitrant seeds I know
2- I sent to him fresh fruit, not seeds, something very prohibited in Brazil, cupuaçu fruit is very fast to rot
3- I warned the buyer that fruit will not arrive in good condition, even with the warning the buyer wanted the fruits
4- When the buyer bought in 2014, he bought atraves de um intermediario
5- In 2015 the buyer take my direct contact, and he explain the problem, and I only request the shipping costs, nothing else , to resend the fruits , but again I warn the fruits will not arrive in good condition

I sent seeds Theobroma grandiflorum for several person, all know, this seeds are the highly recalcitrant, by the way, all seeds of the Theobroma family are highly recalcitrant
