« on: June 22, 2015, 05:28:45 PM »
Here is a cherry kind of tree. not very tall but quite old ( 40 years+ ). fruits looks like cherries turning red/black when ripe.

What would be the best way to multiply it ?

Thank you in advance !

If you put some photos of fruit on here it might be easier to identify.

Maybe to graft on some of Myrtaceae? Eugenia or Myrciaria spp...
When you expect the fruiting season of this species?

It is a friend of mine who got that tree. She is supposed to keep me informed when fruiting. I will post pictures of the fruits. She said they look like cherries ?

This is introduced species (imported plant or seeds) or NC endemic species?
If so, its leaves very close to this: http://www.endemia.nc/flore/fiche2112.html

Thanks Alex, no idea, but I reckon it was planted as it seems to be near by a mango tree and a small building too ? I will check this out carefully as soon as it will be fruiting. Thanks for your help. Vincent
