Carambola not setting fruit

I have a 3 foot carambola that had quite healthy.  Bought it as a self fruitful plant and it has flowered every spring and fall with tons of flowers, but no fruit.  Any suggestions?

It's common for very small young plants not to have enough energy to put out fruits yet.
The flowers may not form fruits, or the fruits may drop off while very small and immature.

It's unrealistic to expect a 2 foot tall plant to put out a big starfruit. 3 foot, don't be surprised if it's not ready yet.

It sounds like the tree is more than two years old yet is only at 3 feet. That is fairly slow has it spent much time in a pot?

It may be a bit shaded.  But, I need a bit of an overhang over it so it doesn't get nipped in the winter.  Can go down to 26.  So, it is a bit protected.

Similar story here. I started throwing old lemons under it to rot and did get 3 fruits last year.
