Chrysophyllum albidum

I found some pictures of this african fruit. This one comes from Nigeria. Unfortunately there is not much information about, but it's reported to be tasty and appreciated. Someone growing it? I would be cool adding this sapotecea to my collection

Been trying to get seeds of this one for years. Very difficult to find!

It is one of few african fruits grown on a commercial scale. Both C. albidum and C. gorungosanum have been tried in as a species for agroforestry with coffee and banana here in Uganda. Can try and look for seeds....

Soren, you are the man!! Did you get to try fruits from those two species? It would be ultra-cool if you could find seeds...

Felipe - haha, thanks I will do my best but unlike the Giant Yellow Mulberry where I had seedsource at hand, I will have to do a lot of footwork here as I have not encountered (nor tasted) any of these two species before - organisations working with agroforestry would be my first stop. It can take anything from a month to a year (or more).

Oscar - it is actually rare that mail I send from Uganda does not arrive - the problem is for me receiving as postoffice workers are underpaid and therefore pay themselves with parcels and letters  But, if I can get seeds, I will work on a different way of getting them to you.

I got a source from the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) here in Uganda. Currently, it is out of season, but he will help me look for seeds of Chrysophyllum albidum and a sweet type Garcinia buchananii. I believe G. buchananii is in season around Oct. not sure about C. albidum. Will keep you guys on the list.
