« on: October 29, 2017, 02:23:19 AM »
Hi folks!

Here it's Autumn now so that means Psidium spp. fruiting season... here are the list of seeds available from my personal collection:

Psidium longipetiolatum
Psidium australe
Psidium striatulum
Psidium firmum
Psidium guineense (Yellow interior and Orange interior)
Psidium cattleianum (personal selection with big red fruit)
Psidium cattleianum ( Pear shaped fruits)
Psidium sp, (Mexican cream guava)

Price is the same for all species:
25 €uros for a package with minimum 12 seeds or 2,5 €uros per seed if you want less then a dozen.

You can see photos of all the species on my FB page... thanks

Miguel

which one tastes best out of these ??

Psidium australe
Psidium striatulum
Psidium firmum

i might have guineense, i had a seed mix-up with P  friedrichsthalianum
and i think i will have to wait for them to fruit to know what i have

if Psidium guineense is even better than those 3, , i will get it also just in case.

Hello
truth is I like them all... the striatulum looks and taste like small guavas... the Australe has a very good flavor on it's own, different from all others... firmum and guineense fruits have similar looks and flavors, both being very good to eat straight after falling on the ground...

My advice is to grow them all!

They all seem interesting -- which of them are sweet?

Hi Barath
all these Psidium species are sweet and good to eat straight from the tree... no need for extra sweetening, or cooking nothing... just eat and enjoy!

Oh... I am sorry that you have not received a pm from me, but it is actually a bid strange because, sometimes I am not asked to plot in a letter code and answer the usual questions. It is not the first time I send a pm when this happens, seems arbitrary. Anyways, if I confirm that I want to buy a package of minimum 12 psidium striatulum seeds, and we then proceed to Paypal, would that be ok?

Hi again

To those friends that asked for seeds of my selected "Big red fruits" Catley guava I'm pleased to inform that I have fresh seeds available again.
This selection has sweeter flesh and less seeds than the normal Catley Guava. Some friend sugested this one could be an hybrid but I'm not sure. Here are some photos of these fruits:

I also have now fresh seeds available from the "Yellow Pear shapped" fruits selection of Catley guava.  fruits are huge and my family finds these fruits sweeter than the normal round ones... here are some photos:

I can say that the red ones are extremely good and very productive! Top variety!   :P
