Two different varieties
Excalibur red, red morning, TM red and Cristela are all red fleshed varieties that Excalibur sells. Not sure if TM red is for sale yet though.

Hard to make a true assessment because the coconuts have been producing for the last two or three years. Initially the yellow coconuts tasted like plain water and only the most recent crop had some sweetness. The Fiji coconuts tasted sweet right from the beginning. They produced maybe a year earlier than the Fiji Malayan.

About 5 years ago I purchased two coconut trees from Dave Romney in Homestead. They were estimated to be about five years old at the time and both were probably 8 feet tall from the base of the container to the top part of the fronds. They were purchased in 15 gallon containers.
They have been in the ground for approximately 5 years.
The Fiji x yellow Malayan cross has grown noticeably slower and has approximately 4 feet of trunk. The Fiji dwarf has approximately 8 feet of trunk.

Fruitscapes on Pine Island has had them.
Fiji dwarf will exceed 12-13 feet. Dave Romney’s trees were 20 years old when I visited his farm in Homestead a few years ago. They had approximately 10 feet of trunk and then the fronds were of course taller than that above it. They do not stay at ace short height it’s just that they grow a lot slower than the Malayan coconuts we typically see here in South Florida.

I made concrete posts. They work very well. The roots adhere to the concrete very well. No burlap needed. I tried to make my posts not have something on top but realized that they needed something on top for support as the plants cascaded down. So I put a long piece of rebar inside the concrete as I made it and had that rebar protrude up through the top middle of the concrete which gave me an attachment point for A pressure-treated wooden post which I drove rebar through and put hog wire on the rebar.

Sweetheart has pretty decent amount of blooms, emperor loaded too, and kaimana also has some blooms.

I found this same exact yellow dragon fruit from Ecuador at M&D Asian Market in St Pete today
Taste: imagine a white dragon fruit drizzled with honey but with noticeably crunchy seeds. Very sweet. Very enjoyable. $8.99 per pound. Fruits ranged from .75 to 1.0 lbs
