Title: Finger limes: Crimson Tide Vs Jali Red or others?
Post by: rcantor on September 02, 2018, 04:31:26 AM
I may be able to get a Crimson Red finger lime.  If so is there anything that would complement it?  Is there any extra benefit from also getting a Jali Red or other variety?  Anything else that tastes different but top quality, has larger pods or whatever?  Will yields of the CT increase with another variety?  Has anyone tasted Red Champagne, Jali Red and Crimson Tide and can comment on how they compare?

Anyone know how to contact @starling1 ?

Thanks!

Where are you getting these varieties?  I've never seen them available in the US.  I can only find green and generic "red fingerlime" which starling1 said isn't very good.

I wish we could order internationally because this Ebay seller has loads of different finger limes trees.

My finger lime seedlings have sprouted. I know they are slow growers but I hope they get a size on them within a couple of years. .

I didn't realize it was possible to order seeds from outside the US.   Now once your trees mature you can sell cuttings to everybody else :)

You might order citrus seeds from outside the US, but getting hands on them depends on customs and the USDA. I would not take the chance. Customs & USDA can seize and destroy & not even notify you. They may also prosecute you. I am not familiar with their procedures.😁

Thanks Bomand I new that they had relaxed the rules on the import of a very small seed quantity, but I did not know you still had to get a permit.
