For hobbyists this is a cool tool. It's 48" long and easily slices the branches of my peach tree (or cluster fruits like loquats) giving me over 10 feet of reach, more if you use a 6-7' ladder. It cuts the branch and HOLDS the branch so the fruit does not crash to the ground. At $25 shipped it only needs a drop of thread lock on the pivot screw to be a cool tool.
The more than $100 longer reach adjustable length trimmers may be better long term, but if this lasts a few seasons, I'm happy.

I've been looking at this lately too. It's around $20 on amazon. Free shipping over $35 or prime.
The $100+ extensible ones are probably better for long term, as you say.

it is strong enough to hold large mango. I have no complaints

I have used these a number of times and work great for lychees, longans and custard apple to name a few. The problem is that they seem to have a relatively short life before they fail.
I would not use them for mangoes. The various types of long fruit basket type pickers, my favorite being a net on a loop attached to a 15+ foot bamboo pole, work best fir mangoes.
