I live in a medronho farm. Just gaved away my destillator but all the hill is still covered with beautiful bushes. Some trees give every year beautiful fruits, some not, also the rain matters a lot but thet are drought hardy as hell. Sometimes it could be the place but the nurseries here propgate them and I think some just take some wood from a nice tree on the mountain. The best whould be to put one branch down on the ground if thats possible?

The fruit ferment very easy and its really nice if it have started just a little, the seeds should be soft. to make liquor; only little little water and then ferment like wine.

The fruit also contains LSA they say but even if Ive been etaing a lot no effect yet ;)

I have cashew , big bush tree , seeds or cuttings ? I have Dragon Fruit , Annona , Jack Fruit , Mangosteen , many species of Sygizium .. Many kind of Psidium .. Katuk , herb ,

I think cashew is most interesting, maybe seeds will be enough?? And I would love dragon fruits. I have some annona and jack fruit but if you want you can send med anything :)

The sygizium species seems interesting but I Know to little now, can you advise me?

and the psidium also sound nice but I dont know what im locking for, Its everything or nothing ;) in my brain :-X

And about the fig cuttings,,, should I not wait until colder times? Or i guess in indonesia that does not matter :)

And you wanted something more?

I could also ask at my nursery if they have some cutting for me and you?

I made a lot of pepino cuttings for a forum member and they start to get roots now.

I have many,, and was thinking to send mostly to people in europe but Im a open guy :)

Tell me i you want, supergood fruit!

Also carob seeds I have plenty.

For free, pass it on or sent me whatever almost :) Would love to have a selcetion of dragon fruits.

33
I can send you carob, and yellow minigueava, and pepinocuttings.

34
I would not know for sure, but fairly many of the drought resistant trees in this region that thrives in arid environments are cable of withstanding extreme temperature ranges, including very low temperatures so I would not be surprised if it can take a brief temperature drop below 0c.

Somebody no more about the hardiness. If you have more of them soren then please send me and I will try it out. I can change for carob, pepino-cuttings, or strawberry guavas.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Why do you have fruit trees?
« on: September 18, 2014, 09:52:52 AM »
I think you are right about me, I like to give. To me giving and recieving thoose aaah and ooohs is more pleasure then eating them myself. The dream would be to create a supergarden where you only have to cut the trees from time to time, no brambles :)

And then when Im about to taste my last complicated fruit, a seed get stuck in my throat and I die from that.  :P

But also because i like to be a pionjer and eat healthier

36
Im also interested of this plant. Do anyone know about the hardiness?

is there more information then this?

What kind of mangos can you find in spain?

40
thx, perfect answer.  :)

41
Haha, I had that song in my head just some day ago, "I cant live, if living is without you" but I didnt expect to hear it with pan flutes :)

That looks like a nice tank though. Thank you everyone for your input.

How far from the battery/panels can I have the pump, tank?

42
So I should ask the salesguys? Should I search the internet or find some local guy?

If internet,, some recommandations?

And the tank.. What would a tank like that cost?

I saw on youtube they made tanks round witch thick fence as armoring. And they built it in one piece. That might also be a good idea.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / What kind of water pump should I invest in?
« on: August 29, 2014, 04:51:38 AM »
Hi.

I want to buy a water pump. Everything is now on self pressure. I would like to pump it like 50 meter up from the river to my house. There I have one tank but Im afraid I must built one closer to the "station". And to have battery, pump and all that in the same please, right?

Do you know anything about theese pumps, to me its a jungle and I get little stressed and make stupid chooses.

Hope somebody can give me advice or input.

Also how to build a tank. Is it possible to do with clay?
I made one with concrete and bricks but its leaking a little.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Why do my cashews die?
« on: August 14, 2014, 09:37:37 PM »
Hallo, I had some cashews that died last year and I didnt really knew why. I suspected brutal transplanting so this time I was more carefull. I notice it was sprouting and planted it in a pot and it came beautiful at first. Then suddenly it looked sad and after 2-3 days it was dead. More or less the same way the others did. So,, I need help because Im waiting for more seeds tpo come and I dont want to spoil them.

Could it be to much sun? I put I behind a bigger tree so the seedling had strong sun but only half a day
Could it be to much water? I maybe have a tendensy to water stuff to much  :-\
Could it be some drought problem?
Could it still be a transplating problem? this time I will put them in pot directly to ovoid brutal handling.

I water it just as I water other seedlings and the ones that comes up normally grow on nice.

Tell me all about taking care of small cashew babies  :-*

46
would be nice with a thread or if people could write recommendations. This guy from spain is maybe in the hospital or something.  :-\

yeah yeah, probably not but for the purity of our minds its better to think that way.

You seem to be a very nice person!

My wife is extending our house like that. She makes a hole in the ground and pour water in it. Then she tramps the claysoil togehter with straw and maybe some sand. Then when its mixed properly she takes small pieces and put them on the wall like a brick. Everyday you can make 20 cm before it has to dry. There is other ways if somebody want to built it faster. Like making bricks first and dry them in the sun or to make a form and pour the mix inside.

Its a lot of work but if everything is allready there to built then why not. I tell you that it holds really really good but you know that allready from the digging right  ;)

48
bananas sounds great! And big UP forn that digging work! Im also working with handtools and portland finest clay, One good thing about it is that it makes a great house if you mix it with straw ;D
