Too awesome! Good job!  I always get blooms around this time of year! I have yet to get a really great bloom in the spring that produces a nice bunch! Though I've gotten a bloom in Dec that produced a nice bunch the following august.

Congrats, Ed.  They look great.  Have you tried growing veinte cohol?  It is supposed to be good for you northern gardeners with a short growing season.

Raja Puri would also be good to grow in northern  limits (and is of excellent quality ).

I've got this growing right now, planted this year... Must say I have never seen a tree grow as fast as this thing does, even faster than my Cherimoyas....shot up about 6 feeet in just 9 months.

I tried a vc  RAja I had to pull both of them out, just didn't do well for me, the namwah, Oronoco, 3640 and Mona Lisa seem to like it up here and grow well.

Soon I will be adding a AE ae to the banana family.

It was given to me as a raja puri. Maybe it was the location that it was planted , but just didn't seen to like it, on the other hand the 3640 grows fantastic up here and its a great looking plant, one of my favorite, another thing I noticed that its the 1st banana that send up a leave after the frost..

Thanks ed. Would like to taste the raja fruit though.

Pushing the Zone Brother !  :)

Have to give you mucho credit for doing so well up north. The larger-older your banana mat gets the stronger the shoots it puts out. They are idiot proof down here. I wanted to get rid of a small banana patch so I went in with a pick axe and chopped up the mat. I also removed some pups to give to a few people.
It was an experiment. Sure enough, within weeks the chopped up banana roots were putting out new shoots and still are

I also threw some banana roots in a five gallon bucket. It got rained on and filled with water. There is a shoot poking above the water from a submerged root and its been like this for two months (another experiment)
