i think some people just don't know how to eat them, and get them too early, and that is why u hear so much about flavor quality variation...all the ones i've encountered are sweet, u just have to let them ripen all the way, don't eat them when they're still yellow/green, it has to be fully colored and getting soft.

congrats on the fruits, i got them planted out here, but freezes of 2017 hammered them down to the ground....now they are coming back, after being only roots for almost a whole year...very strong plant handling temp range of about 23F-110F, floods and drought

If you could take a photo of the whole tree that would be nice. I’d like to see the size and growth habit, as well as know the age of the tree. Congrats!!

The tree is maybe 12 years old. It was in a abandon field that froze in 2009 and 2010. I am now replanting that field so it is getting water and fertilizer. Old plants or doing good. I will take a picture of the whole tree but it is not as big as it should be

My seedling was killed by freak hailstorm few months ago.  You’re not selling any trees, are you?

Congratulations. My Kwai Muks in Homestead also have fruits now, similar size as your picture. Hoping fruits develop/ripen. 6 years from seed, 9ft tall, 5-6 inch caliper, likes water and fertilization, iron in our soil, full sun.

This is the tree it has had no care for at least 8 years after the freeze of 2009 and 2010.  When it froze to the ground.

Wow much smaller than I would have imagined, even with the abuse. Thanks for the pic!
