Ultra-rare guavirá-johvy (Campomanesia sp.) "blue guabiroba" is coming here by friday 17 jan 2020, super sweet tasty fruits. I expected to have several kilos of fruit but unfortunately I will have few: the storms have thrown everything to the ground during the past weeks, the mother tree is lost in the jungle and is not easily accessible!

Name                                   Scientific name   5 seeds   10 seeds   20 seeds   40 seeds
* Guavirá-johvy           Campomanesia sp.   20            38            74              140

After eating some more guavirá-johvy, I detected the "maracuyá" taste supposed to be into C. neriiflora (Thanks Engels)! Look: http://ciprest.blogspot.com/2016/12/guabiroba-branca-ou-maracuja.html?m=1, but the fruits doesnt look the same (the apex is different and mines doesnt have so many seeds, no more than 6), they look as C. malifolia http://www.e-jardim.com/produto_completo.asp?IDProduto=650 , so I am lost... the skin is very bitter/acid/tart but pulp is amazing, sweet and a bit acid, like a sweeter soft maracuyá.

A bomb: I will have this very rare Pacurí species in a few ours:

It should resist -5 or -6ºC, as it grows at Misiones, Argentina.

And I will meet a good variety of Annona montana! (frost hardy to -2ºC, it can grow here while A. muricata cant) I will taste, report and clean the seeds, cheers

Pacurí taste report:

Most of my fruits were not in perfect shape: most of them picked unripe and then went overripe in the trip... but some of them were good (the orange ones, with no green color in the skin), sweet and similar to achachairú: less pulp, skin is softer, but frost hardy to -5ºC and nice tasting fruits, juicy and sweet, complex flavour.

I will taste Annona montana later when they are really ripe! (soft to the touch)

Now that I taste more, I think pacurí is more similar to ocoro than to achachairú

just 40 seeds left.
