going to put these lotus sprouts out into the tank and pool next week. took about 2weeks and it's looking good.
I used dog clipper to nipped both end of the shell. It was very easy. put it in water and replace water everyday.

my brother brought it back from Cambodia. The seeds are fresh and viable. All of mine were sprouted.
$1/seed + shipping , min order 10.

Yes, all lotus flowers bear fruits. In Cambodia, we also eat the young tender shoots(not the larger mature roots). The cooking is different for tender shoots vs. roots. And they have different taste to it as well. Kids harvesting the tender shoots.

I believe water lily is the type that doesn't bear fruits.
