I was told by a California nursery they could sell me seeds for a grapefruit variety I want , but it is not a true grapefruit so it won’t come true to seed ?

As written above citrus seeds do not transmit HLB, also  none of the true virus diseases (Tristeza, psoriasis ect.) . are also not transmitted through the seed.

If that’s the case why are California citrus sold in Florida supermarkets and I assume likewise

there are hundreds of abandoned citrus trees in groves all over florida.
you will never get anyone to check youre tree residential fact of life they dont care about residential citrus so dont give op bad advice. brassinolide power grown brand .2 mg per gallon of water and no greening do this weekly.

There is another simple and cheep chemical that is worth to try in combination with your Zn and brassinolide treatments. N-acetylcysteine  is being tested to treat Huanglongbin in Brazil and it is rather effective against a related bacteria Xyllela fastidiosa.

i looked it up it appears to work but much more expensive than the Brassinolide

It is a psyllid do not worry there are billions in florida pm me if tree gete HLB greening ill tell you how to treat it
It is not a death sentence anymore there are two treatments i use

Has anyone ever used the charcoal to grow your plants. It sounds very interesting.

Cleft grafting is the best way to star I still have a hard time with bud grafting I have the best result using electrical tape at the graft union to hold it tight then buddy tape around scion. In three weeks I take off buddy tape in six weeks carefully remove electric tape
