In search of real Musa Blue Java banana pups (corm)
« on: April 27, 2019, 07:08:38 AM »
Hy guys, after searching on many forums and online sites, I decided to write here in hope that someone will have or knows where to obtain this certain banana. I am talking about Musa blue java (Ice cream banana) which is nowhere to be found. If someone has suckers or corm let me know. I am located in Europe (Croatia). Thanks

I don't want to send you away  :o but you're better off posting on http://www.bananas.org... Read there first, lots of posts dealing with exactly your question.

I grow many varieties of bananas, but not ice cream. I don't grow ice cream because it's a high banana.
For your climate better try dwarf orinoco or nam wah both ABB.

lebmung, I live in zone 9b, so you think better with those two. Do you have dwarf orinoco or nam wah for sale maybe? How cold hardy are them?

I posted the same question there but it seems nobody has this species of banana, I posted here also to maximize my chances of getting one.

Many people grow this banana including my self.  The problem for you is no one wants to ship to Croatia.  I think your best option would be Ebay.  Have you looked there?

I have searched everywhere, only one I have found that looks real enough comes from Thailand for a price of $70 (and I dont know would it get by customs or not). In EU its not a problem.

I will surely contact you if I dont find it by then. I dont have anything rare to offer besides I am currently germinating purple mangosteen seeds (God knows what will become out of these).
