Update on the cactus pad that I got from Forum member: NulZero
The cactus needs support as it grows.
After ~3 years, it reached a height of ~9 feet.
And, it started producing fruit for the first time.
So, my original plan for this cactus was spot on correct:
Let the cactus tree grow as big and tall as it wants.
Then, wait for it to produce fruit.
And, that is exactly how it went.
Originally, I was worried that it wouldn’t fruit in my Zone 10b location in Florida.
But, now it’s a big relief to know that it will bear fruit in my Zone 10b!
Yet, I never got to taste the fruit.
Because, during hurricane season, a big wind came and knocked the cactus tree down,
and all the fruit were lost.
Now, I’m back to re-do things again, but I’m hopeful that I’ll eventually get fruit to eat.
My overall impression and feelings about this cactus is that I really like this cactus tree.
