charred rice husks allows the silica in it to be easily uptake by the plants.

thanks for the heads up. my neighbor is a landscaper. i'll see about trying to set something up.

Citrus General Discussion / Re: can you root budwood?
« on: November 15, 2014, 10:59:21 AM »
i've taken cuttings from my neighbors meyers lemon tree and had a 50% take on rooting them. nothing special.. no heat mat, perlite in cups in a humidity dome. used boiled willow to soak the cuttings for half an hour prior to putting them in perlite. took about 2 weeks for roots to show.

yes thats the one.

looking for other fruit tree seeds or seedlings.

surprised nobody mentioned HOT F'NG WATER. it'll kill the roots. people mention chemicals but blazing hot water will make sure the plant dies for sure.

you can achieve the same effect w/ fish emulsion. its the fats and solids that are being bubbled up.

Urine has more nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium than bat guano and you won't be supporting people killing bats

I'm confused.  How are bats being killed for guano?  These bats are shitting out gold.  No one is going to kill them for it.

lol

guano = poop. i don't like using it bc the dry particles can get in your lungs when trying to apply it. not trying to get sick. i like rock phosphate as a source for long term phosphorous.

if you are.. what zone are you in?
