It depends on species, fertilizer, water... sun...: if your tree is an hibrid red one, it should do it at 3 to 5 years old... if it is paulista or sabará, more than 8 years old... 5 galon should be a mature jaboticaba

how tall is it? maybe 3 feet tall? in that case, it should do it soon

Sounds like our old farm. We had 10 80gal bladders, 2 5 HP booster pumps and 30,000gal holding tanks with 3 wells. All kind of filters up to your ying yang.  You are not living off your land and yet you're running as much power or complicated system as some of the farmers in the deep south.  Might be those California's craziness.


Here's my old crib. Cattle ranch. Nearly 100 acres of peace and freedom. Obviously, I can't plant any tropical gardens there.

Below is our current crib, replacing all the Caballo with tropical fruit tree.

That's one helluva tropical fruit paradise. My folks have about 5 acres in Riverside area. They have as much tropical fruit trees as you do and their water bills are like $300-400/month. That's only drip system. They also have a pool. Crazy California...

I only have about 25 trees and massive yards right now. When I get home, I will plant some more fruit trees in the lower half of the hill, the front yard and in between rows. Possibly remove some of grass in the backyard and plant a row of sapodilla or something. I need some shades to keep the house cool in the afternoon and keep my electric bills low. Like you, I am also creating a tropical fruit paradise. Good Luck!!

I just had this mango and it tasted really good. It tasted like Nam Doc Mai or Dumaguete mango from the Philippines not like the one we buy at Costco or the supermarket back home.

My friend high tailed to NE Georgia. His 700 tree orchard on Pine Island is a goner.

I am planting my pineapples into the ground where's semi-shad and moist. I am letting nature takes care of it. I will find out in about a year.

My wife and folks told me that it is crazily hot, dry, and windy back home. It is not any better in Doha. We're hitting 100 plus degrees with humidity everyday.
