Is it a 'named" variety?

I think its name is red sugar . I have this type. I bought it last year with one fruit on it. This year I don't see any bloom at all. So sad !

Do you know what variety this is, as that could explain the size. Not all dragonfruit are created equal in size or flavour. Did you cross pollinate to get these fruit?

I have a no name purple flesh variety that is also that small. See below, they're about the size of large chicken egg but amazing top notch taste. Self fertile and the ants are doing all the work. Probably bees also.

It may be from a seedling.

I had one fruit that looked just like this that was self pollinated (the only 1 out of like 15 flowers - wasn't very self fertile!!). The same plant had much larger fruit and over 90% success when I cross pollinated.. Mine is supposed to be a Physical Graffiti but I'm skeptical since it should be more self fertile from what I read.

There are 3 or 4 fairly new species out there
that are "dwarf" (supposedly)
Edgars baby is one. Tricia is another...
i hear it tastes good, its a smaller plant
and is productive.

Tricia

If you have this one, or, another dwarf one
i would be happy to trade cuttings with my purple haze

??? Dwarf plant or dwarf fruit?

Spicy Exotics says Tricia "Once pollinated the fruit is a good size with an average weight of one pound."

The original "Houghton" is usually this size without pollinating.

good things come in small packages  ;)

Sugar Dragon produce one of the best tasting fruits and the average size is like a duck egg.  Neon, VooDoo Child, Frankie's Red, Columbia yellow all produce smaller but very tasty fruits as well.

Looks just like mine. It's called Sugar Daddy. Got it from a couple in Calf. Very sweet, My daughters eat them up like candy. I get three crops from it each year.
